"Plant Genomics and Beyond" Conference
2009
URGV - Plant Genomics Research
Unité de Recherche en Génomique Végétale
5-8 July 2009, Evry, France
"Plant Genomics and beyond" intends to bring together world leaders, scientists and students interested in plant genomics. The conference will bridge basic scientific issues such as evolution, cell signaling, transcription, proteomics and post-translational controls, to very applied topics that form the basis of modern agriculture, including domestication, polyploidization and heterosis. An outlook into future concepts of plant genomics will be given by discussing advanced concepts of systems biology, comparative genomics and bioinformatics.

Plant Genomics European Meetings
8th Plant GEM Lisbon 2009
7 - 10 October 2009, Lisbon, Portugal
The "Plant Genomics European Meeting" (Plant GEM) is an annual meeting on the subject of plant genomics in all its assets. The 8th Plant GEM will take place from October 7 - 10 2009, Lisbon, Portugal.
Latest developments in genome and genomics research are proceeding at an ever increasing speed. With these developments new fields of research are emerging. Integrative disciplines as systems biology or molecular ecology are only two examples. The ongoing discussions in our societies about the effects of global climate change, the need for an improvement of renewable resources, safer and healthier food are guiding the developments towards the so called “Knowledge Based Bio-Economy” where plants and therefore plant research are in the spot light.
Plant GEM is an international annual conference designed to be the platform for researchers from Europe and all over the world to discuss latest developments and to exchange new ideas for future projects and to improve cooperation.
More information available soon on the 8th Plant GEM web site.
12th International Cereal Rusts and Powdery Mildew Conference-Antalya, Turkey
October 13-16, 2009
Organizer: Mahinur S. Akkaya, Middle East Technical University
You are cordially invited to participate in the meeting of the 12th International Cereal Rusts and Powdery Mildews Conference which will be held in Antalya, Turkey, five years after the last meeting held in Norwich, UK in 2004 (11th ICRPMC). The meeting will begin on Monday, October 13th, 2009 and will conclude with the Gala Dinner on Friday, 16th of October.
The meeting will be held at the cross-roads between the old and the new worlds. Therefore, we are eager to have participants from all continents and countries where rusts and mildews are issues for cereal agriculture. Suggestions for further workshops on topics related to the content of the conference are welcome.
All topic areas relating to the biology and genetics of cereal interactions with rust and powdery mildew pathogens and pathogen epidemiology are warmly invited. Both oral and poster presentations are invited and as at the 11th ICRPMC we would like to encourage participation of interested parties working on questions both fundamental and applied in nature. Therefore both researchers and cereal breeders are encouraged to attend this meeting.
The format of the meeting will include morning and evening sessions consisting of 30 minute invited presentations and a number of short offered talks under each topic area. Session topic areas will be selected from the submitted abstracts and participants are encouraged to present. Poster sessions will also be held. Participants are encouraged to offer abstracts as oral or poster presentations, although the final decision will lie with the organizing and scientific committee.
Further details and procedures for the submission of abstracts will be posted
on the web site 12th ICRPMC-2009, Antalya and http://www.crpmb.org.
